In many ways the Good practice guide, which was commissioned by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) in 2001, and written by Jude Carroll and Jon Appleton from Oxford Brookes University is still, over 10 years later viewed as a blueprint for institutional thinking on plagiarism, and informed the model which would develop into the JISC-funded Plagiarism Advisory Service (the predecessor of PlagiarismAdvice.org).
The conference adopts an open publication model, by which individual authors/institutions retain copyright, but submissions are licensed for use with the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivative Works 2.0 UK licence, which does not permit commercial use or changes to the original work.
