'Designing out' plagiarism through assessment: where are we now? - Presentation

In the related fields of assessment, academic integrity and student plagiarism in higher education it has become widely recognised that assessment strategies, and the form and design of assessments has important implications in terms of student learning and plagiarism (Carroll, 2007; Clegg and Bryan, 2006; Hrasky and Kronenberg, 2011; James, McInnis, and Delvin, 2002). In other words, the potential for plagiarism in student assignments can be minimised if tasks are designed to help ensure that students can engage in valuable and meaningful learning activities.
