The 5th International  Plagiarism Conference will take place at the Sage Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK 16-18 July 2012. The 2012 conference celebrates ten years of pioneering research in this area.

The conference themes place the student at the heart of the learning process, and will showcase innovative approaches to addressing plagiarism and authenticity from the global academic community. Papers, workshops, posters, and video submissions are invited on the following themes:

  • Strategies for engaging students in discussions on plagiarism and authenticity
  • Enhancing the student experience through e-submission and e-marking
  • Cultural perspectives on plagiarism, reuse and originality
  • Addressing falsification, fabrication and plagiarism in published scholarly work
  • Dealing with authenticity in non text based disciplines and multimedia
  • Open theme; suggested topics include cryptomnesia, longitudinal perspectives, developments in detection technology, using new technologies to foster authentic learning and assessment

The 2012 conference will take place at the impressive Sage Gateshead live music venue, designed by British architect Norman Forster, without doubt one of the most iconic buildings on the NewcastleGateshead Quayside.
