Ofqual has published three new guides to give teachers, students and parents/carers a greater understanding of how to produce honest, authentic and correctly referenced work.

We have been providing resources, training, advice and guidance to the education sector since 2002 to help address growing concerns about plagiarism, whilst promoting appropriate use of electronic sources of information. We work with a wide range of partners including The Higher Education Academy, JCQ, JISC, Ofqual and all UK unitary awarding bodies, along with schools, colleges and universities.

Irish Turnitin user group meeting.

PlagiarismAdvice.org and nLearning are pleased to announce the first ever Irish Turnitin User Group meeting. It will take place at 2pm on Wednesday 20 May at the National College of Ireland, Dublin, prior to the opening drinks reception of the 10th EdTech Conference.

The meeting is intended for institutional Administrators of the Turnitin plagiarism detection software, and provides a unique opportunity for sharing good practice and experiences in use and implementation of the software. Previous meetings of the UK group have proved to be a lively and practical exchange of both pedagogical and technical approaches to plagiarism prevention and detection.

We would like to invite Turnitin Administrators to present a short (15 minutes) case study during the meeting on their institution’s approach to deploying Turnitin and any associated policy development. If you are interested in presenting your experiences please indicate this via the online registration form, along with a brief outline.

Representatives of PlagiarismAdvice.org (formerly the Internet Plagiarism Advisory Service) and nLearning, European resellers of Turnitin will be on hand to offer their guidance and expertise.

To register for the meeting please complete the online registration form. The deadline for registrations is Friday 8 May 2009.
